A5x 5G packs in a punch full with monstrous 6000mAh battery which is its unvanquished headliner. In a world where battery anxiety is very much real, OPPO has offered up a workhorse that will easily see you through even the busiest of days.
OPPO is saying that the battery will retain over 80 percent capacity even after five years of use, and if that proves to be true, that would be some incredible longevity
. This obsession on battery health is a solve for one of the most common ankle biters of super budget phone users, which is their batteries aging terribly in 1-2 years.
Durability and Ruggedness for Long Life
A Rare Find Unlike many slick yet delicate tech, the A5x 5G prides itself on sturdiness.
It’s not entirely waterproof (so don’t take it swimming), but it will likely withstand the occasional splash or light rain.
Its military-grade MIL-STD-810H rating for shock resistance adds some peace of mind for the buttery-fingered people among us.
The phone has a stronger glass and an “360-degree Armour Body” – added protection that’s designed to help your expensive phone survive the occasional drop and bump of daily life.
Weighing 194 grams, the phone is a touch on the hefty side, but not too much so. The thickness was necessary to accommodate that huge battery, and it’s a marked but reasonable bulk.
Performance: Respectable, But Not Excellent
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor inside with 4GB RAM provides reasonable day-to-day performance.
The chip takes care of all of your typical tasks, such as social media, messages and web browsing with out a perceivable slow-down.
This is where youll typically notice the limitations in gaming. Light games are smooth, but graphic intensive ones require scale down of settings for playable frame rates.
The 6nm chip is about 10% more efficient than last-gen budget chips – enough for a change you may notice, though certainly not world-altering.
No expandable storage through microSD could be limiting for heavy media consumers or app hoarders but 128GB of storage is also very generous.
Camera Performance: Yes and No
A5x 5G houses 32MP main camera of reasonable quality in well lit conditions. To assist getting better photos, OPPO has also added some AI-based features including AI Eraser 2.0, Reflection Remover, and AI Clarity Enhancer.
A 5MP selfie camera is disappointing on paper for a 2025 phone’s front camera, especially considering it is the main driver of the selfie craze.
In use, it does the job, but it’s no match for the higher-resolution front cameras in some similarly priced rivals.
For one, shooting in low light is still a struggle, as is par for this price category. No optical image stabilization means you’ll need steady hands for steady shots, especially in low light.

Launch: In India, the OPPO A5x 5G has been priced at ₹13,999 and armed with the specs that it offers, the A5x 5G fits neatly into the value-for-money proposition as a battery-oriented, hardy budget smartphone.
The device is offered in Midnight Blue and Laser White hues and been available for sale since 25th May 2025 in leading online and offline stores.
