Oppo F18 Pro launch with 256 GB storage, check price details

Oppo F18 Pro: The smartphone landscape is evolving faster than ever, with new features and price points constantly being pushed by manufacturers.

The F18 Pro is Oppo’s latest mid-range offering that tries to find the balance between being performance focused, well-designed, as well as economical.

I’ve spent a couple of weeks using this thing, so here’s what I like and what I don’t.

Design and Build Quality

It is evident that Oppo has gone all in on the F18 Pro’s looks. The device maintains a slim 7.6mm profile on a glass back with a subtle gradient finish that presents differently depending on the angle and lighting.

It has a solid heft in the hand at 175g without being heavy in the hand or in your pocket.

The power button with a built-in fingerprint sensor is easily accessible on the side, so you can unlock your phone in seconds, even when using a case.

The display The front has a 6.5in AMOLED display with only small bezels and a hole punch camera, giving an impressive 91% screen to body ratio. There’s a degree of drop and scratch resistance protection from Corning from its Gorilla Glass Victus.

Display Excellence

The screen of the F18 Pro is definitely one of its major attractions. The 6.5-inch AMOLED screen pops with bright colors and inky blacks and features a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations.

The resolution of 1080 x 2400 (FHD+) display delivers sharp text and clear content, and with its 1000 nits peak brightness you can see your screen even in broad daylight.

The color accuracy is also great, supporting the DCI-P3 color space and HDR10+ certified, so media enjoyment is absolutely pleasing with it.

Performance

Its dimensions 3400 are 11mm in thickness and weighs 230 grams and come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor.

The octa-core processor and 8GB of RAM ensure that multitasking is a hassle-free process and gaming performance is okay for most games although the most demanding games will need to run on lower settings.

The Oppo’s ColorOS 14 (based on Android 15) is slick and without much bloatware.

The app is packed with thoughtful features like a smart sidebar, flexible window management, and advanced privacy controls.

Camera Capabilities

Its camera system comprises a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro shooter.

In adequate sunshine, the main sensor takes detailed images with well balanced colours. Low light is strong with night mode, but not best in class.

Its 32MP front camera also churns out sharp selfies with accurate skin tones and dependable portrait mode edge detection.

Video tops out at 4K/30fps with good stabilization, but rivals at this price point offer 4K/60fps now.

Battery Life and Charging

The 5000mAh battery easily lasts a full day on a mixed usage, and just crosses over into the second day with moderate use.

The phone comes with an 80W SuperVOOC charger that powers it from 0 to 60 percent in 20 minutes and to full in about 50 minutes. There’s no wireless charging here, unfortunately.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

12Hz AMOLED display with support for HDR10+ is brilliant

Design and display Premium Gorilla Glass Victus protection Note that unlike the S21 Plus and S21, there isn’t a flat screen option here.

Good enough for simple tasks and casual games

Awesome battery life with super fast 80W charging

Clean, feature-rich ColorOS 14 (guaranteed 3 years of OS updates)

Mid-range at the right price

Cons:

Lack of wireless charging functionality

Camera systems struggles with tough low light conditions

No IP68 water resistance (only splash-proof up to IP54)

No expandable storage option

A few heat problems after long gaming stretches

No 3.5mm headphone jack

Oppo F18 Pro: Verdict

The Oppo F18 Pro is a great addition to the mid-range smartphone market. It’s not the best in any single category, but it’s a well-rounded device with solid display performance, battery life and design.

The F18 Pro is the perfect fit for users out there who wants those for they won’t even need to break the bank for, it’s definitely making a powerful case you should upgrade to in 2025.
